Synchiropus Ocellatus

Dragonets are thought, or at least used to be thought, to have poisonous skin, which could, in speculation, perhaps help prevent epidermal parasites. I would not call them disease resistant as the only two I have ever owned died from diseases; my scooter blenny was even feeding on frozen glassworms when the entire tank was stricken with crypto and gill flukes.

Since my tank has been running fish free, the pod population has BOOMED. Thought it may make a nice home for a mandarin or scooter. But while on the subject, and my information may be too vague but...My tank is 55 US Gallons, around 40lbs of liverock, a pretty large amount of macro algae growth as in a foot tall crop of caulerpa...just wondering if that sounds suitable in sustaining a mandarin? I was hoping that if they are indeed disease resistant then I could add one while waiting for the crypto to die off but I suppose that's out of the question.

Definitely enough for an Amblygobius (Rainford's goby included), and perhaps enough long term for a dragonet. I always recommend getting ones that feed on dead foods.
