Hey gang,

Doris went and had the little ones at a time I could not do a Take a guess post. So I will just post the amazing results! Over 110 fry and 10 or so unhatched eggs. She birthed last night and 101 Fry lived to be transfered to the growout!!! I now have over 200 fry all born this year.

CONGRATS!!! I have a female that is getting a bit big, hopefully she will pop out some more frys soon. ...Her last batch gave me 10 beauties! They even all lived!!

I have four fish stores in the area that have all said they are interested in buying locally raised fish, but it will be based on their available space to house them. There is of course a difference in the prices they are offering, but as long as they buy them I am not going to be to picky on the prices. If it does not work out though I may have to sell some as food for Oscars and the like I hope it does not come to that!!!

I am sad to report though, that my little momma has just past.... She must have had some probelms this time with the pregnancy.... I have good new though, as she was passing I found a new fry in my out grow tank I where he came from but he is the littlest of things... One of my other Swords had a batch and I thought only one had survived from her, the rest looked deformed.. but he must have been hididng in the plants I also had to purchase more females because after I lost my momma I only had 1 left.. So I have a new one that came from the LFS looking preggers so we will see what happens. I know my Pineapple male loves all the new gals So I will keep everyone posted on her

Hey Heather,

It all depends on the fish, and how many fry she ends up having. It can go from a few hours to nearly a day and I have heard in a few cases more then a day.

Sorry to hear about your loss thrdwatch, but lets hope for the best with the little fry. Good to hear that your Pineapple boy got some new girlies to frolic with. I am keeping an eye on your fry but the growing is slow since there are so many others in the tank with them. I have been looking for some cheap used tanks to spread out the numbers a bit but no luck yet.

Thanks for fry sitting How many tanks you have set up now? My Pineapple fella likes to frolic with the ladies..... Hopefully he can make beautiful frys with them...I do have a Marigold male that is supposed to be mating with all the ladies but the Pineapple has kinda run him off....he's a naughty little pineapple LOL

I have just the two on my signature. Went by my lfs earlier but they did not have any used tanks. All the ones I have located in the papers and such are all more then an hours drive away. I do not really want to spend $30 in gas to buy a $30 tank in unseen condition!!! (gas is expensive in Sweden!! like $5.40/gal).

WOW!!! that is a lot of cash for gas.... I thought paying 1.95/gal was expensive...LOL
Your LFS doesn't have cheap set-up tanks with all the stuff in them, huh? Too bad. Good luck on your search
