As I said above...I tried staring a topic in the betta section but site wouldn't let me for some reason.

So, i'm here again after some help with my betta.

Ever since I bought him he's not really eaten much and he's never been as lively as he should be. He always sits at the bottom of the tank you see.

And (typical school girl error!) thinking back I actually remember asking in the store if the betta was ok as he was sat at the bottom of the tank and the store man poked him, he moved and the guy said "yep, it's fine" What an a*se!! I pondered as to whether I should take the fish back but they'll probably just cull him so i'd rather help him myself!! :D

Now after doing some research i've found that he may have swim bladder and that feeding him a shelled pea should help?

Also, i've put him in an 11L tank on his own for now, all filtered and heated, etc, with the same water from the main tank. I was told that they benefit from lower water levels as well when suffering with these conditions?

I've also added a small amount of Melafix to the tank as was told that it reduces stress on the fish?

Please let me know if everything i've done is right. I'd hate to have given him a death sentence!! Lol!

Oh, and you're all gonna ask for water stats  Hehe! So...

Last time I checked (1-2 days ago) they were:

PH - 7.5-8.0
Ammonia - 0.1ish
Nitrite - 0.0
Nitrate - 10mg

Thanks,

Tasha

Oh, forgot to add. I've just actually tried to feed him a small amount of pea but he refused to eat it.

HELP!! :shout:

I don't want him to die! He's so beautiful!

Thanks,

Tasha *aka very distressed fish owner*
