Hi folks...

Tomorrow I get the marine setup and bits from the eBay buy.

It comes with 2 Fluval 304's - both of which have been used in the marine setup.

I would like to see what a 304 can do for our 50g planted.

So the question i have is, will I be ok swapping the media and running it on a FW tank?

and will i then be ok swapping it back to marine at a later date?

Yes. Just be sure to rinse it/run it to remove the salt before using it on your freshwater tank. Though I doubt there will be salt in significant enough quantity to change your waters salinity, I like to be safe, rather than sorry.

Got it all at lunch time today :D

well chuffed with the stuff i've got.

I just need to get media for the 304's and I think I'll give one a got on sunday :)

well yes. most filters and stuff are designed for both apart from skimmers and things like that.
yeah - but this is used.

I was wondering if ther was anything in marine tanks that meant it shouldn't use it in a fresh water tank.

I thought it was unadviseable to use a fresh water filter in a marine tank as tank treatments may contain copper etc that can be fatal in a marine tank even in tiny amounts...
