I did some maintenance and rescaping in my tank yesterday and it looks a lot better now but I've lost a green barb since I've done it. I don't mean 1 has died I mean its gone missing.

Is there any chance I've got it stuck under my bogwood even though I slowly lowered it onto the substate I don't want to move the bogwood as my candy plec has set up home under it by digging all the sand out so he's got a big hole to hide in lol.

It is possible he has become trapped somewhere. Check all the decor in the tank, as well as filters and even things you used to remove the water if it is possible he could have got into them.

Ill check them all then I hope he's not under the wood would he survive a day n half stuck under there? It was too big to have gone up the siphon but ill check anyway I've already checked the bath were I emptyed they buckets he's not there.

In the nicest way possible, we can't look for you! If it's not in the tank, it's got to be somewhere. Look under things (the plec will have to move), in the filter, behind the tank, in buckets, anything you used.

i did reshaping other day and its very easy to squish the fish, i kinda did it at the weekend with some slate i lowered it slowly thinking no fish no fish no fish as i put it down boom a cory swims right under I'm like GRRR, also my cory's like to get close to me moving the sand around could you have buried him in sand? and could any of your fish have eaten him if he has died? i hope you find him and he okay

No I know u can't look for me lol. Ill have a look when I get in I suppose the other barbs and red eyes could of eaten him if he died.

He could just be hiding still. I have a red tailed shark that gets real po'd when I clean the tank. I just did it yesterday and took out all the decorations. I still had to look for him while I was cleaning, he'd hide behind the bubble wall real low or once he lined up behind the heater on the back side pointing down. After I put the decorations back in, I didn't see him for about a day and I started getting worried. Looked on the floor behind the tank and all that, he was just hiding out. I have another tank with a dwarf gourami that is a master of hiding his relatively giant body in plain sight.

Look on the floor behind the tank in case he jumped out. Look up in your light hood or any other unlikely place that he could have jumped to. After that, start moving your decorations around. Even if the other fish ate him there would still be remains I think. I've seen a complete skeleton picked clean at a local box store, but there was still plenty of bone left.
