Supersized Tanks

I have spent a good few hours on ultimatereef.com over the last few days looking at the big tanks on there. Some really are massive, 9 footers, 12 foot long, 18 foot L shaped, 10ft x 8ft... you get the idea, they really are huge.

So i know we have T1KARMANN, but is there any others? Or do people go marine when they go big? One day i would love a massive tank, im thinking 8ft x 4ft, but, as much as i love marine i would like to stay tropical, mainly for cost issues, but i would also like something that doesnt becomes a chore to maintain.

So is there any other examples out there?

All these tanks look awesome stocked, but i think the pics empty show a good scale

I like the last one the best, not sure what i'd have in there though lol.
Discus or some of the larger cichlids, salvini & oscar?

I like marine too but i think i'd rather have a smaller tank for that, 75-55g?

It would be difficult to decide, i thought mayby Discus with a huge amount of tetras..

Would be nice to plant out a tank that size, imagine the size plants would get to!! Use some big logs, forget the piddley bits of bogwood lol. Would use plants that get tall like vallis, aponogeton, tropical lillies and so on...

would be epic *sigh*

some bricks, cement and wood = £50

there u go.. u have a 16 foot super duper tank. for peanuts.. ( u need a place to put it though.. )

awesome tanks i aim to have a monster when i move home something around the 10ft mark i build my own tanks so cost of the tank isnt the isue but my god that would be thousands of pounds to fill with tetra lol

Someone here was planning a horseshoe shaped one that went across 3 sides of his lounge.....can't find the link though.

i would love it my mrs is pretty good but if she come home and id turned my front room into a walk in aquarium i think id have to move into my lfs as she would kick me str8 out lol

I had a really bizarre dream about a big horseshoe shaped tank last night after replying to this post LOL

I dreamed i filled it with a box of 1500 neons (which i swear are one of the least intelligent fish and one i ave no wish to own) and in my dream i was getting really hacked off because the neons all went to one end of the horseshoe and then just kept bashing into the glas over and over and over until they were ALL dead

beacuse they wanted to get to the other side of the horseshoe... accross the gap... :unsure:

My dreams are so weird but i woke up feeling so frustrated i could cry and i was in an awful mood! LOL

I plan to make a giant paludarium when I have room of one. With a group of caecilians and then tons of nanofish and stuff all densely planted.

bae has a 9x3x3 and there's someone else on here with a massive tank (like 10x4x3 or something) who has it on a hydraulic life for maintaining etc, can't remember who though.

I think my ideal would be 3x3 width & depth and about 10-12 long :drool:
