Super High Flow

I have asked before, but never got a response other than sometimes having to sacrifice flow rate for fish.

I have a 4000l/h power head in my tank for the planted flow rate requirement. But, my fish seem to have to work really hard to swim, so dont look relaxed at all! There are several objects for them to hide in etc, but the flow is fast there too (again, for the plants).

So, is this normal in a planted tank? Will my fish be ok in such a high flow? They are cardinals BTW.

they probably just look like they are struggling but are`nt, i thought i might have had the same problem before then i saw the natural environment of the fish i had and the rivers were like rapids the flow was insanely higher in the wild.
