Super Fry!

So there I am capturing all the fish in my tank, so that I can do a complete tank redesign and after I have collected the last of the platies, it is time to dump the water and gravel until....

This little guy makes his first appearance ever!




I didn't think that any of the fry from my platies brood survived at all, let alone 2 weeks!

Hope he lives to see another day, thinking about putting him in the breeding net, so that his odds are better. Definitely a platy, looked like a mini-platy from the side and red from above... so cute. The kids named him, Speedy.

If there is anyone to reply to my question... I know Mollies breed Ick. But do Platties? Thinking about getting one but I need all the facts first... Are they easy to breed like guppies? I do not know anything about them!!! Help!!!!

Mollies dont breed ick,ick/ich is a disease (whitespot) brought on by stress/overcrowding/poor water quality/temperature changes etc etc...

Platys,guppies & mollies can breed quite willingly

Correction: Ich is a parasite. It is not brought on by poor water or stress or any of the other things that old wives tales relate it to. It is brought on by having an infested fish or plant introduced into a tank.

hey nice little fry there, i use to always find fry in my filter and some times they werent so little any more.
Now half of those fry are in my main tank
