Hey there all! WELL im not a beginner in fish persay for I have kept and bred all kinds, but I am a bit new to cichlids. Went to the local Petsmart and noticed they had one peacock cichlid left, and the display picture was a bright flourescent (spelling) yellow with blue on the gills and a yellow/blue stripped tail. Well i bought the fish which i am assuming is still young? Its colors being a drab greyish blue with black zebra strips going up and down and it has a single white streak on both bottom fins. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like it maybe an Aulonocara Baenschi or Aulonocara Stuartgranti Maleri, check out these links:

I have kept Baenschi on a couple of occasions and they are simply stunning - especially as they grow towards adults, great fish. Never kept Maleri but they are very similar in appearance and temperament.

Thank you very much, Im assuming mine is still in its young colors and it will take time for it to reach its full color! By the way do you happen to have AIM or Yahoo? I am lookin to make friends expsecially since I am starting out on the cichlid adventure! :hyper:

I'm not a big fan of IM systems but feel free to PM me if you have any questions that don't get answered on the forum. :good:
