My male betta is used to living in a communal tank.
Last night I put him in a betta divided container thingy with 2 other bettas that I purchsed last night while I divided another tank for the other 2.
I tried to leave him out but he kept getting agitated by them so putting him away seemed the better approach.
Today I put him back in his communal tank but hes now hiding at the bottom of the tank, and wont come out or eat :( He was so angry last night and I'm hoping hes just sulking but I'm really worried he's not ok. Do they always come around from being so distressed??
He wont come to me when he normally would
.
Cant believe I'm so upset over my fish ignoring me lol I just feel awful I have upset him

I just watched him swim to the top for air then go back to his hidey spot :/

I would just switch the tank lights off if you already haven't done so, and try to leave him to settle down. Divided tanks with multiple males can be really hit and miss sometimes- the stress of constant flaring and being aggressive really takes a toll on them, so I would leave him in his community tank for now. If he is still stressed tomorrow I would keep the light off and leave him be for a few days (obviously keep an eye on him to make sure that he hasn't become ill with anything). Once he starts to perk up try him with some bloodworm, he shouldn't be able to resist that :)

More than likely he's just upset that you moved him my giant tiger beta gets the same way when we remove him from his tank to clean it he usually bounces back in three to four days.
