Hi, I was wondering whether pond dechlorinator/purifier is suitable for aquariums? It seems to be alot more powerful than the usual stuff for aquariums hence you have to use less pergallon as you would "normal" purifier. What do you guys think? I usually use tetrasafe but have also got a bottle of "Aquahydrotech Chlorine Guard" It says its "Contains no synthetic chemicals, herbicides or pesticides and is totally harmless to fish, pets, wildlife, plants & children." And now this sounds like a reallys stupid question! But what made me ask was that it says 250ml can clean 1000 gallons of water.

Pond dechlorinator will work in an aquarium. 1 ml of that will dechlor 4 gallons of water. 1 ml of Prime will dechlor 10 gallons of water. It's really not that great of a deal.

Seachem makes Prime, which is for aquariums, and Safe, which is for ponds. They are both the same thing, Prime is liquid, Safe is powder. I've heard of folks using Safe in aquariums without a problem.

Just make sure the product you are thinking of using nuteralizes chlorine, chloramine, & ammonia.

Oh right, thats fine then. I had never heard of that prime stuff you mentioned...it seems really good as it deals with ammonia aswell, Good stuff. Peace
