I'm just setting up a small tank I intend to use for quaratining new fish, and for use asa hospital tank if needed etc, it's only small so I don't want to go overboard.....I plan to have pastel coloured glass pebbles for the bottom, any ideas for minimalist touches for this tank, it's a shame the filter and heater will have to ruin the pale look by being black but nevermind!

Should I/ or can I put in a couple of plants with glass pebbles, or is it best to maybe get a fake plant or two instead for this tank?

Cheers!

In a quarantine/hospital tank its probably best to use fake plants and add a terracotta pot on its side as a cave.

A black background would make the pebbles stand out more and the filter would blend in with it.

thats a pretty good idea....was gonna find some black card for my main tank anyway, so a little bit for the mini tank would work too.
Not sure if i'll have room for a terracotta pot, maybe a mini one.....can do some fake plantage though :)

I'm working on my 5 gallon. I would recomend a little fake wood as a cave, it looks great.
any idea where i can get any small enough, the current tank i have set up is probably only about 10 inches wide at the bottom, hoping to buy a small clearseal in a couple of weeks for about £11 :)

You can hide the filter and heater by adding tall plants to the tank.
As I hate seeing filters.

If its a hospital tank you might want to avoid gravel. I would just do a plain background and some PVC or fake plants and a filter and heater. Hospital tanks aren't supposed to look good.

agree with the above. makes it easier to control waste with a bare bottom. add a couple of fake plants and a cave of some form.
