I now have a spare 3 gallon tank and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for it? It is filtered but probably wont keep it heated however my 9G half hex tank isnt heated and it stays at a constant 24C so it should be fine.

I saw some pygmy corys in a fish shop today so I might get some of those. I was also thinking about maybe a bumblebee goby or dwarf puffers?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Ben

Well, if you get dwarf puffers, you could only get one, and it would be the only inhabitant for the tank. I already see you have some Betta's, so I assume you wouldn't want more of those.
You could try researching shell dwelling cichlids. Most stay under two inches and a couple could possibly live in your tank (I do not know too much about them though, so you should double check somewhere else first). :)

I wouldn't put any cory (other than peppered, but they are too big) or cichlid in there. It's unheated and too small.

Even if it was heated, I don't know what you could have had other than a betta, pygmy cories or shrimp. I'm not even sure about the cories.

Pygmy Cories would be fine according to the info I have read about them.

I wouldn't dream of putting a Cichlid or any normal Cory in there.

Peacock Gobies, small, colorful, hardy, easy to breed and full of character!!

IMO a 3 gallon is only big enough for 1 betta. it is not big enough for the pygmy cory because same as all cories they need to be kept in groups. and prefer groups of 6 or more, due to their small size to feel comfortable. I wouldn't put a dwarf puffer or a gobie in an unheated tank. Your options are very limited in a tank so small.

Hey, don't know if anyone knows this but bumble-bee gobies can live quite hapily with puffers...at least they have for me and someone else I know! I wouldn't go for them though, 'cause mine all died and I think they disrupted my tank COMPLETELY! :grr:
Never seen a peacock goby, anyone got any piccies? :kewlpics:

Yes puffers and gobies can live peacefully together, but not in a 3 gallon tank. You'd need at least a 20 gallon for there to be peace.
