Well the title says it all, whats a good size of tank for a betta? I want something small and cheap. :D

I plan on getting this yellow ct betta with the greatest fins. :) (Hope he's still there.)

It's 8$ though, and I'm planning to get it.

So, could someone answer my question? Please and thanks! :)

edit : EVERYONE, I MADE THIS TOPIC FOR MY SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT.

:) My limit is 25$, (rules) And I want a 2.5g, with a little plant and a filter. How much is a 2.5g? (W/ or w/o the filter.)

i myself would only put a betta in something of 5 gallons or more nicely planted with some suitable tank mates

you can pick up plastic tanks with light and filter quite cheap at this size and then just add the heater
look on ebay or pre owned papers sites

hope that helps

bare min long term I would use a 2 gallon, better long term would be a five.

might be eaiser for you in the long run to get a five gallon with a filter already in it. i prefer mini bow tanks myself but the marineland eclipse tanks arn't that bad either and they come with a bio wheel. marineland tanks usally are pricier then the mini bows but they have other shapes, i have a standered hex and corner tank. the other downside is they can be a pain to fix. mini bows are simple, as i say simple tank for simple mind (which is me)

anyways i ramble, good luck i hope your fish is there when you get it/

I would go with the 5 gallon. I have a betta in a 2.5 gallon minibow. The filter is internal and with just 1 plant and a rock cave, there is very little space left. Wish I had gotten the 5 gallon and hope to avoid you having the same regret.

a 5 gallon will be easier to keep the water stable than a 2.5 gallon it will also be better for the fish and is not much more expensive than a 2.5 gallon

let us know what you go for in the end

You might try keeping a watch out for second-hand - I don't know if garage sale season is ongoing in your area right now, but little tanks with equipment sometimes go very cheaply at these as well.
Lotsa luck.

): Not garage season. + Everyone in my neighbourhood are doggy lovers.

You might try running a "WANTED" ad in your local paper. I did that once and got a 38 gal. with cabinet stand, top, light & filter for $50.00!!!!

WELL worth the effort, IMO.

try craigslist or your local online swap place. I got a 20long, 20tall, two 10s, two 5s, two 2s plus several filters, lids and lights for free.

but youve still got sponge filters and air pumps and heaters and dividers and food and plants. I do not even want to know what I have spent on my bettas.
