Well now that I have fry I am looking into making more hiding spaces for my tank. I like the looks of live plants and they seem to be doing very well in my tank but I am wondering what else I could use in there. I like the look of floating plants but don't know much about them or where to find them. I am thinking of propping the wood leaning against the wall of my tank and put more plants in but still not sure.

wisteria is a simple plant to grow, and just cut the top off and let it float and it will turn into a floating plant on it own ;)

anubias
elodea densa
java fern
java moss
hygrophillia polysperma
mos balls
cryptocorynes

floating plants:

salvina natans
amazon frogbit
water lettuce

For shops try:

plants alive
aqua essentials
The green machine

The last 2 shops stock tropica plants which are of the highest quality hence the dearer price tag,

All the plants ive had have slowly died, except one. So yesterday I bought some "Supa Natural Fern" .. It looks great and it wont die :p

And they come in different colours lol

I've anyways wondered how plants grew in tanks. what do you need for them? could somone help? (Planning to plant my tank.)

:D WOOOOOOW MENG, thats awesome. You should get like, little ornaments like statues, or choose a theme and dress it up. (Christmas, halloween, chinese, indian, etc.)

Oh! Get those moving ornaments, or that treasure chest that blows up bubbles when opened. :D

the plants absorb nutrients from the water(fish poo, dead plant matter) and by using light they change those nutrients into oxygen and growth i think..

the main thing for plants is lighting levels, this then depicts if you need nutrients, CO2, and of how much you need.
