I have been looking everywhere online for a particular gravel. I want a really fine gravel substrate, like 1-5 mm at the most, usually planted tanks call for 1-3mm but I'll take a larger grain. Normal gravel is a bit bigger than this and can look unsightly. I would prefer black, but at this point, I'll work with a natural gravel as well as long as it's not too light. It is to be mixed with laterite for several planted tanks (36g, 20g, 15g, 8g). I live in the US and would be fine shopping online and having it delivered to my home in Miami, FL. I've done it before.

Anybody know of any US based websites or a brand of gravel that I could at least look up that makes this finer grain gravel? I've tried Big Al's already, and there are a lot of substrates available, but none give grain size information.

Thanks a bunch! You people are awesome!

Look for something called Bits of Walnut- it ie exactly what you want. Estes used to make it, not sure who does now.
