Stuffing As Filter Floss

Could I use stuffing (like the stuff in stuffed animals, couches, pillows, anything with stuffing) as filter floss? Where can I buy cheap filter floss (and bio-beads). For my DIY Corner Filter.

A lot of stuff (no pun intended) like that is fire retardant treated, so it may leech into the water. Floss is cheap enough on ebay. 5m for about 7quid. That would last you for ever. They do smaller quantities too.

Alright. I'm going to PetSmart so maybe I can buy some cheap. I also want to get some bio-beads. I have another question, would using a T splitter (as in 1 as input and 2 as output) make for 2 filters? Or would the flow be too weak?
