My sister has just got a 10G, new filter and everything, so I thought we'll do a test to see if it actually works.
We added it as it says on the bottle, we tested it and it came up with Ammonia.
We added it again a week later and then the week after that, we tested it with my test kit and
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 30ppm.

So, in this case Stress Zyme does work, but I'm still going to do it the old fashioned way!

I didn't actually believe anything would cycle this fast or whatever?!

If you have no fish and aren't adding ammonia, it's not surprising you don't have a reading for ammonia.

But we did at the start for some reason?! I bet she was adding it without me knowing. But I went in the pet shop and asked about it, and they said, if you add ammonia now it will deal with it..

Well, some of these bacteria in a bottles do contain ammonia so the tank isn't doing absolutely nothing in the time it's running empty. It seems that in your case the filter has developed enough to process the ammonia that was in the stress zyme. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean there's enough bacteria to support any number of fish.

In a fishless cycle we grow enough bacteria to process 4ppm of ammonia to nitrate in 12 hours. I'm highly doubting your sister's filter is anywhere near capable of that yet.

Its too much hassle if you ask me, i think its a lot easier with pure ammonia because then you know your filter will be capable, lets just say I'm not going to do it!

How much ammonia did u initially have? Have you tested your tap water?

So the scrap of ammonia in the stress zyme has been removed, certainly not the same as a properly cycled filter!
