Strange?

ok so i did a water change last evening and before the water change there was no nitrite or amonia


i get up this morning and the nitrite was over 1.0 and there was 0.6 of amonia ( i check the water stats every day cause i have guppy fry in that tank ) why?


i did 2 small water changes today but the stats only went down a small bit


it happend before when i did a water change the next day the stats where of the scale did a big water change when i noticed it. The stats were normal the next day

why could this happen i hope the fry will be ok they seem ok now eating well and all

any ideas?

you need to test your tap water. what tests do you use?

i tested my water before ( nutrafin test ) amonia 0 ( api )nitrite 0 and ( api) ph of 7.0 i think it was but after a few days it changes to 7.2

could it be that when i clean the gravel the good bacteria gets sucked up or something?

so i got up this morning and checked the stats nitrite 1 amonia 0.6 well its not #16##### much as last time will check the stats later on in the day and if they are not down by the evening i will do another small change
