Strange White Stuff Floating About Tank Mid Cycle

Hi,

I have just entered stage 2 of the cycle and came down this morning to find a load of white stuff floating around in tank. Im trying to upload a pic but failing at the moment. Any ideas !!!!

Bits of mould off something? Do you have anything organic in the tank?

Sometimes I find a white slime builds up on the suction cups of those Interpet heaters - maybe its off there?

It's kinda hard to tell without a sharp picture of the "white stuff".

Only thing is there is a brand new filter fitted last week.

Sand and the rocks that were boiled and scrubbed before putting them in.

The filter has sucked it all up now So guess ill give the wool a little rinse later and see what happens I guess

make sure you rinse it in tank water you take out, not tap water.

Looks like the white/clear film that grows on newly set up tanks... it will eventually disappear.

I just thought it was strange that last night nothing this morning loads and now all clear

yes i was gonna say the white slime that builds up on the suckers on heather and filter etc....my fish actually eat it....so i dont have to clean off no more!! lol
