Strange White Algae

I have white algae on all my plants that has a stem and then usually has 2=3 arms on the top of it.

It sorta looks like this 3--

Does anyone know what it is called ?


I also have brown algae on my bogwood but can I assume that is OK ?

the brown algae are diatoms i think, and the "white algae" are actually hydra and they can sting and kill fry.... not sure how to get rid of them though, try looking on google.
