Yesterday i found one of my platy fish had died, when i caught it in the net there was a strange worm like thing in the net aswell. It looks sort of like a larvae of some sort.. but i havent introduced anything into to the tank in ages?
Any ideas, i dont want to just ignore it incase there are others in there or they arent good! Thank you!  buggie.jpg

Looks like a dragon or damsel fly nymph. They are predatory and will take fry, so it's best out of your tank. Pop it in a pond (preferably a fishless one!) or water butt, if you have access to one, as they're beautiful creatures

Yes, thats definitely a Damselfly Nymph , i have had those in my first tank.

They come in usually via plants from LFS, that has been grown outdoors and adult damselflies lays the eggs on these plants.

Its possible there may be one or two more in your tank, keep an eye out form them, just in case, hope its just the one you have altogether.
