Ive noticed some strange behaviour amoungst my platinum and blue tux guppies. They get on well with the rest of my community (2 dwarf gourami m/f, zebra danios, white cloud minnows and a few neon tetra) however I have noticed that they seem to "kiss" or "nip" the volcano which covers the filter and they do a similiar thing to the plants I have in the tank. Im worried this may spread to nipping the other fish especially with the gourami as they have quite large fins and are an easy target. Has anyone got any explanations or is this just normal behaviour? Also the female gourami seems to very attached to the heating unit it spends long periods of time swimming near it (often floating facing it) I think this may just be proximity to the heat as I know they prefere water which is a bit warmer than the other species currently in my tank. However the male is not showing the same pattern freely swimming around the tank. Ive got quite a large tank with a few plants a cave good pump/filter system and have been changing about 25%-50% of the water every 10-14 days since i got the tank and slightly less in the past month or so and keep the temp at about 25degrees. Anyone got any ideas? Any advise would be greatly apprciated.
P.S sorry about the long post and I can try and get pictures of the bahaviours if it will help
