Fish Herder
Over the last couple of days, I've noticed that my fish have been flicking on the leaves of plants and the heater. At first, I thought it could have been white spot, but none of them have any outward signs of disease. Then I thought it might be internal parasites, but their poo is normal.
I've now noticed that they seem to be breathing quite fast, and gulping whilst underwater. Then, at night, they all come to the surface and take air straight from it. I tried upping the filter flow to increase aeration, but it's made no difference. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be?
64L tank. Stocking is at 3 platies, 2 mollies, 3 swords, 1 guppy, 3 endlers, around 8 1-2cm platy babies. It's pretty heavily planted, too.
Water stats:
Ammonia - 0.2ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - 20ppm
Temp - 27*C
I change around 25% of the water every Saturday. I did a 50% change today to get down my ammonia (it was at about 0.5) and will do one again tomorrow to get rid of it all (the small spike was probably because I squeezed out the sponge and put in a new carbon sponge).
