Hi

Any advice on how long should I store a conditioned water before using it for a next water change?

Is it even advisable to store it in the first place?

I don't see any point in storing it. Dechlorinators work instantly, and you can easily warm the water up a bit with some hot water from the kettle or hot tap.

I suppose it might be a good idea if your water supply is one of those that has a very different pH when it's freshly drawn, although for smaller water changes (of up to 25 or 30% or so), even that shouldn't be an issue.

Ouh.. that's good to know! Coz I've read somewhere that storing water is good.. "Age the water", they say.. haha!

Maybe I can try the warming-up of the water a bit method though.. tks!

I keep a spray bottle with conditioned water in it, but it is mostly for keeping the grindal worm culture moist and for wetting the food I give those guys. Otherwise, you could just store up some jugs of water and let them gas out over a 24 hour period if there was an emergency. I've got a couple of jugs on hand just in case something goes wrong, but I also hoard dechlor, so...

'Age' the water is basically an old method of degassing the water and eliminating need of dechlorinator.

With the dechlorinator that we have now, there is now really no need to age water although there may be some older members who may continue to use this method.
