New World Cichlids include rams and apisotos.metfan581 said:how bout New World Cichlids
Blue Ram:

Apistogramma:

A pair of either would do well in your aquarium. Then of course, you could go livebearers, or uh... other stuff too. Rams however, are sensitive to water fluctuatoins so an established tank is always good. You could start out with say, many low light plants ie hygrophelia polysperma, java fern, anubias, cryptocoryne, ect and some drifwood with some nice black sand or fine gravel or plant substrate (eco-complete, flourite). Have the tank set up all nice and everything then of course you'll need to cycle so... theres that. After cycling maybe try adding a few ottocinclus, like 3 to 5. Then after maybe a couple weeks add 13 or so cardinal/neon tetras (not sure if this is a good thing cus cardinals are really sensitive to water quality too but... oh well). Then after the tetras get a pair of rams and apistos and just look at how great of a tank you have. That's at least what I would have done. To think I started out with guppies and zebra danios
