hey got a 4 uk G tank and was wondering what fish would suit this sized tank? cheers

seen as its posted in the New World Cichlids Section...
i presume you mean what cichlids.. I would say none, but a betta, shrimp or snails would love a tank like that :D

ye im thinking of going with a betta and i meant any types of fish not just cichlids but wasn't sure where to post it. and would shrimp and betta be ok ?

a pair of betta simplex
or a betta splended the min for them is 3g so 4g is fine.

ah cheers for the help ye i think ill go with a splenden could i have a snail or shrimp in there too?

Nope...the tank is to small for a Betta imo...

so what fish could i keep?

None...just stick with Inverts.

i have a ten Gall fry tank here and i wouldnt dream of keeping anything in it long term...its just tiny.

The say 3g for a Betta but trust me its cruel...they don't live in 3g in the wild....they live in vast Rice paddies...just think how you are supposed to filtrate and keep stable water in a 4g tank for a betta.

just wondering why would they build a tank that is too small to house any fish?

4g is alot better than what alot of people keep them in. ive kept bettas in 4g tanks and they have been perfectly happy.

Its not about that theory tho is it...

Thats like saying...my mate keeps a gold fish in a bowl....and i keep one in a ten gallon tank instead.....which makes me a hero.

Its not suitable or fair.

Because they can sell them....same as gold fish bowls and those BioOrb things.

i didnt mean it like that. i think 4g is fine yh they may live in 1000l of in the wild but alot of fish do and people dont give them tanks like the size they would in the wild. and in the summer they live in tiny little puddles. my batta was perfectly happy in 4g
