Can you help me with my stocking of fish, i want to get some more as i have re-done the whole tank (new tank with old equipment).Looks at my sig and thats what i have got so far, i want something more intresting, guppies are quite nive, but in past experience they dont last long. Also there will be quite a lot of plants in the eventually aswell.

Thanks

Well first I would suggest that the clown loach is rehomed; they need a tank of at least 75gallons as it can grow up to 16 inches! They also prefer to be in groups.

I believe that yoyo loaches also do better in groups, so I think the second thing would be to buy at least 2 more.

Also, sorry if this is a dumb question, but whats a dalmation fish?? -_-

I'm not sure about how much more room you have in your tank but if I was you I would rehome the clown & buy 2 more yoyo loaches - Im sure someone else who is much more knowledgeable than me will help you. :)

Dalmation Molly??

That's what I thought but wasnt sure...

yer thats it but mine is more darker, i really like the clown loach, i dont want to get rid, but do you really think it would be better for him?

I cant remember where i got the yoyo loach from so it will be hard to find another.

Any other suggestions on stocking please

Nathan

okay, i will cist one of my LFS and see if they will swap him :-(

I'm sure you find another couple of yo-yo loaches somewhere, if not your LFS should be able to order some in for you :good:

i hope so, dumb question: i saw some small chiclids in my LFS can the go in my tank, with the current fish exculding the clown loach, would'nt they also grow too big?

Can you remember what there names were?

A nice "community" cichlid would be a Blue Ram.

no they was just in a tank, there was a small yellow one and a few blue ones i think.i just googled 'blue ram' and it wasnt them, they didnt have as pointy fins

In addition to blue rams, other possibilities (but with all of them still be careful, although lots of people have had success, some havent) angelfish, bolivian ram, kribensis (get pretty agressive during spawning so dont get a pair in a heavily stocked tank or in small community tanks) and cockatoo cichlids. Most of these, if not all, get agressive when they get horny, so just stay on the lookout.

i like angel fish, but they will grow too big for my tank

ah, missed that part, its 70 liters not gallons, my fault. I would stick with either blue or bolivian rams in that size community tank.
