Hey after reading about various breeds I already own id like to double check that what I have is acceptable and get some suggestions as to what fish and how many I can add. I have:
15 neon tetras
2 bristlenose (m/f pair)
2 platies (male I think)
3 male dwarf gourami (read this was a problem but have seen no aggression between any fish and they follow each other around happily)
1 minnow
7 guppies (male and female mix, one highly aggressive quarantined)
5 fry assumed to be guppies
This is currently in a 3 foot tank but moving to a 4 foot tank before adding more. I have a few questions though.
Right now I am feeding flake food to top feeders once a day and biscuit things to the bristlenose at the same time. Is this acceptable?
Are any of these fish mixed together a problem? My pH is around 7.2 and fairly soft water.
What can I do with one aggressive guppy? I'm assuming no one wants a lone guppy and he just nips at everything it can. Right now its in a breeding trap and doesn't like it.
The minnow I have been told is a fresh water fish and also a schooling fish. Seems to have joined the neon school so should I just leave it be since its been in the tank the longest and seems happy? Otherwise would it be happy and healthy alone in a small unheated tank?
Are the gourami fine if there is no aggression or should I change them around?
In the future after the move to the 4 foot id like to fully stock my tank. Could anyone suggest some good fish to look into which go with what I have and how many of what would be ideal?
