Stocking Question

You can have quite a few cherry, ghost or amano shrimp, no problems as long as your water parameters are ok. They're so easy to keep.

I feel that zebra danios (and the glofish, zebra fish and long-finned are all the same species) are too lively for a 14 gallon and I wouldn't want to risk Endlers with a betta.

How about 1 betta with a dozen microrasbora (or small tetra, like embers) and some shrimp?

The problem with danios is that they naturally come from fast moving streams where they swim just under the surface in the fast current. They need huge amounts of room and loads of current. I wouldn't put them in a tank less than 5 foot long personally, preferably more than that, with extra powerheads at the top to give lots of water movement. You couldn't put a betta in a tank like that...

Small tetras or rasboras would be good, and dwarf shrimp would go well, although watch out that the betta may try to eat the babies. If you put amano shrimp in there wouldn't be any babies to much because they need brackish conditions to pass through the laval phase, so that would work well. You could probably have 4 or 6 very easily with a small school of tetras or rasboras and a betta.
