Stocking Question

I have 2 Jack Dempseys in my 55 gal that i would like to get rid of (give away, not kill). I want to get some fish that don't get so large and not so aggressive. I have a breeding pair of convicts that are great, but the fry never get big enough because the dempseys always eat them. Any suggestions.....

Very difficult because convicts are very aggressive when breeding well aggressive always,i found jd's less aggressive
so tank mates will be difficult, if your planning on breeding go with only them in the tank
