Hi, i think i might get some chichlids for my 32 UK Gallon tank. its a rio 125.
are there any fish that i could keep in here?
im thinking semi-aggressive, but nothing too big that it will need a new tank soon, or will domeinate the tank, i.e a 12" fish.

if you have ANY ideas, then please let me know...
Cheers, Mikey

Yea, dwarf cichlids would do well, you could go for a pair or keyhole cichlids, they are very docile, but are scardy cats(from what ive read)

or a pair of t bars, they dont get big and are really colourfull.

Also rams are said to be sensitive to water conditions, i think they like soft water with ph of about 7 or so.

Keyholes are awesome... they will take awhile to become comfortable... they can be kept with larger tetras, and other non aggressive type fish..

Mine took about 2 weeks to start eating infront of me, and not hiding when I walk near the tank... now they are really personable and are always looking for me.

Could i have like 4 german blue rams in the tank?
if i could (or even one pair) what else could i have in there?

Mikey

Ok, just thought of something...
could i have:
  • 1m/1f geman rams
  • shoal of 5/6 neon tetras
And then something else...
like maybe, a larger fish, another shoal or a plec of some sort...etc.

Would that work?
got any surrgestions???

Mikey

i'd go with the rams, shoal of cardinals say 10 and maybe cories or an angel or plec or some kind.

:good:

Hmmm...
id like a plec of about 8-10cm when fully grown
or an angel...
both would be nice
but so would 4 climbing perch (Ctenopoma acutirostre)...
not sure which to go for lol...
if i did go for this set-up i think id have 8 rummy noses and the others...

if you get a climbing perch they would eat your neons?

how tall is the tank? for an angel it needs to be 18"+ for good fin growth.

what about a bristle nose plec?

:good:

No i wouldnt get the perch and the rummy noses!!!
id either get the perches, or this set-up im trying to find out what i could have now...
well its 51cm high, so its 20" high...
so what im thinking is:
8 rummy nose tetras
pair of german rams
3 corys?
and a bristlenose...think that would work?

8 rummy nose
1m/1f pair of rams
5 cories
1 BN

is how i'd go with those fish.

:good:

Allright, that sounds cool tank, but id love the perches too!
mainly cos their abit differant, and their predetors, so itd be cool to watch them feed etc.

Im so undecieded...!
what would you go for?

you could add more to that so id maybe go with 6 rummy noses and another 6 of another type of tetra to make it look a bit more exciting.

otherwise it sounds great.

kno what you mean about the perch tho. considered them for my 80 but i decided to go with the community cos there would be more variety.

Yeah, i would have more veriety, but would they be as interesting???
thats the question...

do you think i could have:
pair of rams
6 rummy nose
6 neon
5 corys (any type?)
and a brittle nose
without being overstocked?
anything else i could have?
maybe a centrepiece fish instead of the seccond shoal, or just to add on?

Many thanks, Mikey

well your dealing with small slim bodied fish so this is a great time to use the inch per gallon rule.

very roughly (i jus woke up) you have about 30 inches with that list you last posted so its about right.
