well as some of you know i have just got my 6x2x2
so now it the fun bit thinking of what to put in
i have a oscar, common plec and 6SDs in
my LFS is good and can order in most things. Tomorow i could get a fire eel as there is one in.

You could get the fire eel, in the oddball fish index I wrote an artical on keeping them if you need more info.
Things like asian aros would work, greens are the cheapest and you can get them for about £100. Another option would be a black south american aro which can be bought for about £80 ish, but theyre harder to get.
Other things like delheizi bichirs are an option, aswell as ornate bichirs aswell.
Ornate pims, sterogeon cats, blochii pims, lima shovelnoses are all catfish options, check the catfish index and see what you like. Catfish wise there are loads of options. Check the stocklist of your local and see what they have because there are lots of options.
Other things like south american cichlids MIGHT work, but check first because I dont know too much about oscar compatability. If the oscar will be ok with most of those typre of things then you could get firemouth/s, convicts, juparis, geos theres quite a long list, but with the smaller ones, like firemouths and cons, it might limit keeping other things, like cats and aros.

there is a shovlenose cat dont now what kind it has a yellow belly and black back...
if i could get a hold of a black aro i would defently get...

Ok keep an eye out on the tropical imports stock list, I think theyre getting a new shipment so you dont know your luck, might be some...Last time I think he had them for sale at £75, which is a good price.
What were the markings, or were they just plain?

Well to me that looks like a lima shovelnose, however Im really not clued up on shovelnoses...Have a look through planet catfish, you will see the one that was in the shop on there.

Black aros aound good, someone here (I get confused with all the big tank guys...) said he kept one in a 6 by 2 for 7 years without it looking uncomfortable :good:

there is a chance your oscar *might* not like the aro

that was T1KARMANN
and the pic is a lima shovelnose mike

Yeah I assumed so but confirmations allways good.
Yeah it was T1K who kept one for 7yrs in a 6x2, it should be fine but then again each ones differant, especially if its from a differant collection place, but its unlikely it would get too big.

i dont think il get a arow. I dont want to be stuck in the possition were its not happy in the tank or dosnt get on with my oscar

Shovelnose/Arrowana or Oscar and Plecs......hmmmmmmmm not a hard decision imo....i think the Oscar and Plecs would be at the nearest Aqauria shop asap and replaced with the Shovel and Arrow ;)
