Hi!!

I am starting a 20 gallon coummunity aquarium. It is now in the fishless cycle process, and I was just wondering if my fish stocking ideas sounds good...

6 Rummy-Nose Tetra
4 Platy's
2 German Blue Rams (Butter-fly Chichlids)
2 catfish- have not decided what kind yet. Any ideas??

pH: 7.0
Water Hardnes:??????
temp: 78 degrees F.

Does that sound good???

Hi :) I would swap the german blue rams for bolivian rams as germans/golds/dutch/balloon (all same fish different colour morph) need high temperatures and low ph now you could do this in your tank as rummy nose tetras are also good in these conditions and also for the catfish sterbai cories do well in high temps but if you want the platies as well go for bolivians - I think you could also have more fish in there I would probs do something like -

2 - Bolivian Rams
4 - Platies (all males)
10 - Rummy Nose Tetra
8 - Panda Cories

Hi,
So, I have been doing water tests (fishless cycle) and here our some of my resaults.
Amonia: 0.0
pH: 6.5

Does the pH work well with the fish I selected???

Hi,

How long have you been doing a fishless cycle?

And why is the ammonia reading 0? have you been adding an ammonia source to the tank such as liquid ammonia?

Agree with Andy, several questions to get cleared up here. pH is a different animal if you're fishless cyclng than if you have fish! WD
