Stocking List

Hi all i wonder if anyone thinks this is s suitable stocking list for a Juwel 180L with there own internal bio flow 3 filter.

2x opaline gourami,
3x yo yo loach,
10x cardinal tetra.

the cardinals are already in and after 3 weeks are doing well.

What is a possible snail eating alternative to the yoyo that will not grow to big for the tank.

what else would go well with these without being over stocked?

i wouldn't mind some sucker mouthed algae eatting thing as they look really good.

I'd get Botia striata, zebra loach, rather than yoyos; they don't grow quite so large and are more peaceful, IME; yoyos can be quite nippy if not in large enough groups. You could easily have 6 or 8 zebra laoch in a tank that size.

There are quite a lot of plecs (suckermouths) that would fit in; your best bet would probably be a bristlenose; very hardy and easy to get hold of (and not too exepensive!).

Thanks for the advice re the yoyo i'll look into some zebra loach instead as i don't really want anything that has the chance of nipping anything.

Will the Zebra eat snails like the yoyo will apparantly do?

i've had a look and the brislenose looks really good to.

is that something to get a single of or i'm a better off with a few?

They're not particularly sociable (especially if you end up with two males, and they're normally too small to sex in the LFS), so you'd be fine with just one; on the other hand, while they'll do a bit of pushing and shoving over the algae wafers, they don't hurt each other, so you could have two or three if you prefer.

I was only thinking of one or two.

just found a new privately owned lfs run by a group of enthusiasts, that seems amazing and they have zebras so have come home with 6.
