Stocking Ideas For A 60l Tank?

once your tank is cycled leave it 4 weeks of clear results then get your corys

Sterbais and Robinaes do well at higher temps
pymaeus are really cute and you could have a group of 20 easily in a 60ltr tank without much impact they play around the bottom and middle areas of the tank

avoid pandas until you have a very mature tank + 6 months minimum

(Sorry i haven't replied, ive been at work pretty much all day.)

Hi shelaghfishface, still only the one, and he seems okay just chilling out of top of the columns as they're quite sheltered by the Amazon swords at the back. I dropped in some crushed flakes earlier and he managed to eat some before the other two came up and finished it all off. I was thinking about a fry net so he can eat without all the competition for the food.

Thanks for the advice pippoodle. I was thinking like starting with a group of 6 corys so i still have some space for a few other fish as well. And then maybe add more at a later date if i still have space for more fish.

Also good news everyone. I have managed to find a fish breeder willing to donate some filter media. I'm going to pick it up on Wednesday. Do i just shove it in the filter and leave it for a few days or what?

Oh and, my tank will be done soon with this filter media.

When its cycled, while i am waiting 4 weeks before i put corys in what are some other fish i could put in?

harlequin rasboras are are good middle fish that are very colourful and will be ok in a cycled tank
especially once you add the mature media

once you add the media keep testing the tank though it should start to work pretty quickly , the add the harlequins when it's stable :)

An answer that pleases me...

Ive been doing a fish-in cycle with mollys for about a month now... And i just want to get it done and get some fish...

How about...

3 Mollies
5 Harlequin rasboras
5 Neon tetras
6 corys

Too many do you think?

Edit: Maybe lose the tetras and have a bigger shoal of rasboras?

if you have male and female mollys then they will quickly increase in numbers they can have over 100 fry every 4 weeks so think about where and how you are going to house these
if you're going for female only mollys then that should be ok but dont add the neons for at least 3 months
i would rather increase the numbers of harlequins if i was you or go for
java eyed rice (Oryzias Javanicus) fish like i have they are friendly and very active and swim most of the time in the top levels of the tank so you would have all levels with something going on in them

neons dont stay at the top they swim all over the tank but up to you hun have a look around :)
