I think now for my new tank i will have 1 chocolate cichlid and a couple of geophagus with him for a peaceful tank but i don't know if that would work?

chocolate cichlids get even bigger than severums. potentially 12 inches. hate to say it yet again but you would need a bigger tank.

I know that and next year i might be getting a 75.

Might be isn't the same as will be. I'm a firm believer in getting fish that you know you will have the room for.

Which is frustrating but saves you a lot of time and hassle in the long run when vague plans don't materialise.

ok but what about this? Have 1 geophagus jurupari, 1 chocolate cichlid, 2 geophagus surinamensis.

Jurupari should be in groups and the chocolate will outgrow a 55/60g

you will have to make sure u get a bigger tank in the long run but if its only small now you would be fine for months to come but i would leave the geophagus as most of they grow to 8-10 inches and need to be in 2-3's maybe you could go for some thread-fin acaras which are nicer than some geophagus and only get 6" max

I've always planned on getting a bigger tank, as do a huge number of people who come on here asking for advice. 90% of them never do upgrade, then are annoyed that the advice they're being given is to give up a stocking idea until they've got a bigger tank.
