ok ive considered my stocking A LOT ive been mulling over it for ages and now ive decided.

im going to be stocking

5 otocinclus sp.

10 corydoras pygmea

15 aplocheilichthys normani (lamp eye killifish)

10 cherry red shrimp.

does this sound ok or is it over stocked? should i drop the killifish down to 10?

As far fish movement yes, since you have an equal amount of bottom dwellers and top dwellers, however without a superb filtration system you may run into problems. With smaller fish like this the general rule of thumb is to have 1 inch of fish per gallon. If you add up all the fish, excluding teh shrimp, you get 30, which is more than the rule states. Converted to gallons your tank is 27.27 gallon. I would drop it down to 10 killifish. Also, I'm not up on my kilifish, but have you looked into whether that species will eat your shrimp? I beleive some have the ability to eat tertas, so I'm sure the shrimp wouldn't with stand it.

honestly, that is a very general rule and with smaller fish like those, a very slight amount more then the rule states will not hurt it in the slightest. I am afraid that rule has a massive amount of flaws im not going into, good as a general idea and a guideline more then a rule. dont live by it. id say dont worry about the amount of fish, ur good where ur at.

i have a filter rated at 1200lph and the killifish are 4cm at adult size, the corydoras pygmea are 3cm adult size and the oto's are 4cm adult size, i think it would be ok as the bioload of small fish is very little and for the shrimp its almost nothing i think it will be fine.
