Well, earlier today my mother found a tank at a garage sale for 15$, and it came with the stand, filter, heater, and some decorations.

She set it up before I came home from school (SHe said she wanted to do it this time. ), and even came up with an idea for what she wants in it.

I did some measurements and it is 15.25 inches tall, and 13.25 inches wide and long, which comes out to about 15 gallons.

She wants angelfish, but I doubt this would be big enough, right? She also wants something active. Any suggestions?

So thats about 55 litres ?

I think you can put angels in a tank that size, they like height I think, but somebody who knows more might help there.

You have to be careful what you put with Angels, so first I would decide if you want them or not, then we can suggest good fish to go with them.

I'm fairly certain that people mention 20" as a good minimum tank height for angels along with a volume of 30+ gals, but could be wrong.
Remember that when fully grown, and if unstunted, angels get surprisingly big. I had a couple of young uns in a 17 gal tank about 500mm tall and they certainly looked 'wrong' in it....

I didn't think they would fit. :( Have to break the news.

Alright, now she wants a dwarf gourami and a couple of black livebearers. I'm sure they will fit.

Thanks for the help and the info on the angels. :)

10g per angel, you could fit two angels in there but that would have to be it.

I still don't think they would have enough room, and the gourami+livebearer option would be a bit easier, as I don't have to go through the trouble of trying to form a pair out of a group of juvies. Thanks anyway. :good:

did you know that theres a dwarf angel? i didn't know about it until it was posted on here a wile ago.
