Stocking - Can't Decide, Need Help Please

So my bargin tank from gumtree isn't quite the bargin.........

So dimensions are......23x11x12 inches 50L

Comes with Tetratec IN 600 plus filter.....it's too large to have standing, currently diagonal on the side of tank. Fluval u2 on order.
50w heater....Looked dodgy with insulating tape around top of cable so binned it and got a new one.
Red fine gravel........binned and bought Tahitian black sand online.
Rather nice piece of bogwood.....kept though it's floating so it's standing to stop it floating up.
Plastic plant........binned.
Breeding trap.....kept.
Thermo....binned son bust it so bought a new one.
Other filter.....binned.
And lighting system in hood....works.

So it's set up in my living room. Just the bogwood, some pebbles, fake stone bridge and a little elodea on black sand. Decided I don't want to plant this up heavy, if at all. I like the less is more look as it fits in with the living room which is minimal look.

I just can't decide what to put in there now. Was thinking perhaps species only? Or a centre piece fish and a shoal of tetras?

Something that is a talking point.

i have a tank about the same size as that, and at the moment i have 2 balloon mollies and a shoal of 6 Harlequin rasboras, but im thinkin of having a betta as the main fish instead of the mollies and adding a few more rasboras to the shoal

Maybe a Betta or a gourami as they centerpiece fish and a small shoal of tetras, snails, some shrimp, and some endlers so 4 endlers or 4 female guppies, 7 or 8 neon tetras and 1 Betta or 1 gourami

Gourami sounds interesting too. Always liked neons. Love my endlers I currently have.
