So I've got 2 Aqua one 620's and a 80cmx40x30cm tank that I'm busy cleaning and sorting out (ebay is my friend 
). The plan is to move my current stock (4 corrys, 2 pitbull plecs, 8 neons and a betta) to new homes and free up the 64l box that they currently live in for my dad to use to grow out his malawi fry when they arrive.
I've decided one of the 620s will be used to house my growing shrimp colony and some endlers in a planted environment but I'm stuck with which tanks would make the best home for the rest. I have spotted some Apistogramma cacatuoides that I fell in love with but am unsure a) which tank will suit them best (I was thinking of just a pair but maybe a trio of possible) b) which of the old tank stock would live best with them. I assume the betta will be in the other tank due to possible fin nipping but not sure about the plecs (which I love too and want more of) or the corrys (too much bottom competition to live with the cichlids?).
Advice as always welcome and appreciated.
P.S. the box is currently being filtered with an eheim 2213 (2 sponges and 2l of substrat as media) external so I assume it would be fine to distribute some of the media to the lid filters of the 620s to aid in cycling. If there is a short cut to cycling please let me know.
