Boulder Fish
New Member
My fishless cycle is virtually complete - I will be ready for fish this coming weekend and would REALLY like to stock the tank, but I am having trouble finding the fish I wanted.
I have a 20 US gallon tank with plenty of structures and artificial plants, a soft sand substrate mixed with eco-complete so I can add live plants later.
My tap water pH is 7.6
When I planned my stocking list, I lived within half an hour of several LFS. I wanted 10 Celestial Pearl Danios, 3 Dwarf Loaches, and ultimately (in a few months) a single Dwarf Gourami.
Now I have moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where there isn't a single LFS. I have called all the stores I can find within a 2.5 hour driving radius. I can't fill my shopping list!
I don't want to risk mail-order. I want to see the actual fish I am going to purchase, so I figure I should rethink that list entirely.
I am looking for peaceful and hopefully colorful...
I don't want fish that are so shy I never get to see them...
What about a species tank?
All suggestions welcome!
