Stocking A Fifty Gallon

Guppies x 8
Balloon mollies x 4
Platies x 4
Panda cories x 12
Shrimp x 10
Cardinals x 12
Glass fish x 4

Okay this is what I have in mind so far, but is there any way to change these numbers around to include some hatchetfish? Or should I just keep it as is?

Cut some of the Guppies and maybe knock the Platy's on the head and you could have a nice sized group i guess. Alot of it is trial and error with fish keeping.

What if I took a few of the cardinals away? How many hatchet fish should be kept together?

Or do you think I should just leave everything as is?

Cardinals will do much better in a bigger shoal. Hatchets need to be in a group too i believe.

So then I should probably just leave it as is?

That's what I would do. You could get some pygmy hatchet fish if you want.

How tall is the tank? 48" long plus 18" wide sounds like the dimensions of a 75, not a 50...

It is not as tall as a 75 I don't think...but its definately 48 inches long...maybe it's thirteen inches wide? Ill remeasure as soon as I get home from vacation :)

How many pygmies would I have to get? and if i got them would it be overstocking?
