Hi all
I have a 350l tank that I'm in process of setting up ( I have small tank already so familiar with cycle etc)
My question is what good colourful and interesting fish should I be looking at? Also I want to ensure I get a mix of top, middle and bottom dwellers.
I will be putting my pleco from old tank in there, other than this starting from scratch.
Any ideas gratefully received!
Thanks

I take it when you say you want a mixture of top middle and bottom fish you mean a community tank.
So, how about,

20ish hatchets ( if your tank has a hood )
20ish tetras ( any will do )
10ish loaches
1ish Pleco
4ish gourami ( preferably peaceful types )

Howzat?

Hi this sounds like an exciting tank :)

What kind of Pleco do you have? Is it a common?

For colour and activity in this size tank I always think that a larger schooling fish will make a great addition. Something like Congo Tetras or Rainbow Fish - either a larger school of the Dwarf Neon Rainbows or a smaller school of the larger ones like Turquoise or Banded Rainbows.

For bottom dwellers I would go for something like Pictus Catfish maybe? Or if you wanted to add anything smaller you could go for something Hoplos or Loaches - I wouldnt get Clowns in this I dont think this tank is big enough for them long term but maybe something like Polka Dot Loaches or a big group of Dwarf Chain Loaches would look nice.

Then for feature fish maybe a Rotkiel Severum or Blue Acara, Rainbow Cichlids would work nice, Threadfinned Acaras or you could even do a group of Geophagus Tapajos Red Heads.

Altums! Great fish! A tank full of altums will look nice!
