Ok so i have moved my female fighters over to a smaller tank now i only have the 3
and i have a 20gallon(UK) tank with 2 apple snails and 2 ADF's( which can be moved over)

so i have a 20gallon tank id like to stock with something different,
my boyfriend wants something with a bit of size and colour to it and possibly a few shoaling fish too(not important though)?
any ideas were not too fussy i dont mind a challenge. :)

Honey gourami
Apistogramma cacatoide
Bolivan ram
school of celestial pearl danios
African shell dwellers (cant remember the correct names)

there's a few ideas....

what are the exact dimensions of the tank?

Anything over 3" - 4" long might be pushing it, but maybe others have a different opinion?

24"L 19"H 12"W

ill keep that in mind possibly paradise fish??
i just read but doubt that convict pair can be kept in a 24 inch ?

paradise fish would probably be fine, just be weary that they can be agressive so tankmates need to be choosen carefully. Try posting in the Gouramis and Anabantoids sub-forum for more info.

You might be ok with a mated pair in a 20gal. However, this would mean fry, so you need the means to remove/rehome them. Try asking the question directly in the New World Cichlid sub-forum where people who keep them might be able to offer more advice.

GBRs are great looking fish.
Some others that would work would be kribensis. A female krib in breeding condition is quite a sight with the extreme red patch of her belly. Even some of the more colorful swordtails found in a typical pet shop would work in a tank that size. Larger fish are pretty much out of the question though, due to the swimming room they would need.
