Hello all, what do you think of this stocking plan in a 30 gallon bowfront medium planted tank:

6 Glo Skirt Tetras
6 Bleeding Heart Tetras
4 Peppered Corydoras
3 Emerald Green Corydoras
3 Mexican Dwarf Crawfish
Would you add anything else to this setup?

I do have spider wood with java fern attached, plus some stacked 'pleco chew' driftwood, and a few rock caves. Plants are several sword plants, marimo covered driftwood plus 1 ball, cryptocorne wendtii, tropical marble queen, and some pennywort which floats on top. Filter is Aqueon Quietflow 50.

Thanks!

To get the best out of the Cory's you would be best getting a group of 6, maybe just stick to one group so 6 Peppered or 6 x Emerald Green. Cory really need sand substrate to do their best also :) I have 6 peppered cory in my 30G, they are just the best!

Sounds great though, love the crawfish, I wish we could have them here in the UK!

When you say Glo Skirt tetra, I'm assuming you mean the glofish brand? These are genetically modified fish. Their stock is typically weakened. They are more prone to illness. They have a shorter life expectancy (and they are ugly). Many of us here do not support the modification of a fish for human aesthetics. Please reconsider purchasing them.

Having said that, your potential stock has several schools for a 30 gallon. You will find your fish will be more outgoing and generally more vibrant in larger schools. One school of corydoras, as well as one school of a tetra species would look very nice. You could also add several shrimps to your set up.

I'm not sure about the crawfish, but you would have to be very careful about potential aggression.

Thank you for the feedback. I realize there are lots of varying opinions on the genetically modified tetras. Being a newbie, I went with what looked good to me and what the LFS recommended as hardy species for a new tank.

you need to get rid of the crawfish, it wouldnt work with the cories, it would be better if there was one school of cories and that you have one school of tetras, given the white skirt tetras are fin nippers and are agressive in smaller groups.

I started a mini debate a few weeks ago regarding the glofish and In the end most agreed that it was a matter of preference really so don't feel too bad for getting them.
Most people on this forum are interested in the natural and authentic aspects of setting up an aquarium, hence why not many people like the idea of a glow in the dark fish

I don't have the CPOs yet, it was just something I'm interested in. All I have now are the Corys and the Glo Tetras. So...perhaps I'll stick to a larger school of Glos rather than adding Bleeding Hearts. And perhaps some red cherry shrimp. I appreciate all of your feedback, and will keep you posted!
