I need some stocking ideas. I am thinking of 1 male betta 6 tetras and 4 swordtails or platies and what other can i add.

Bettas aren't a very good community fish. Some people have success, but many don't, so unless you have another tank for him incase something comes up, I'd suggest you avoid it.

I would get more tetras. In my opinion, they look better in larger groups.
Also, cories and plecos are great bottom feeder fish. I think the best pleco for a 29 gallon is a bristlenose, because they stay small.

I would do this:
10 tetras (my suggestion is cardinals or black phantom tetras)
4 platies (or 4 swordtails)
6 cories (pandas are my favorite)
1 bristlenose pleco

I also think you could add one more group of small fish, such as marbled hatchetfish.

You may have better luck with a female betta. You might be able to get away with 4 females, a lot of people have tanks set up like this.

Stocking could be:
4 female betta
5 cories
6 tetras (you might find that the bettas prefer the less colored tetras)
3 platy (you might want to stick to all males, or else you will end up with a lot of babies.)

Onto this you could add some type of centre piece fish, maybe a gourami?

Well it is quiet hard to find a female betta over here. And also cories. I will what to do with tetras.
