Stock It Or No?

After christmas I think if I have money to spend I'll upgrade my betta's .5 gallon tank to something bigger. The .5 gallon tank is the little kitt hat is commonly used. Just a question for you guys, if I were to get the current betta a bigger tank should I put the .5 gallon to retirement or buy a new betta for it?

i tried the retirement thing, or the setting it aside for transfer or emergency isolation type thing. but it didn't last. i bought another betta. in fact, i have a spare 2 gal at the moment, will be giving it a betta after work tomorrow if the yellow one is still at the store..............
