Hi,

I have a 230ltr tank and I have:-

6 x neon tetras
4 x zebra danios
12 sunset platys (born in tank)
1 x unkwnown
x 2 dwarf gouramis

I was hinkg of getting some guppies, I think you buy them in pairs.

Q1 - Are guppies suitable with this mix?
Q2 - Could I get 2 pairs of guppies or do they prefer small numbers?

Thanks in advance of any info

1. Guppies should be fine with those fish
2. I'd advise a higher ratio of males to females, 1:2 or similar.

I'm fairly new to tropical fishkeeping but I believe thats a fair consensus, and someone with more hands on experience with guppies is never far away on here :)

Btw, if you post a pic of your 'Unknown' you've a good chance of getting it ID'd on here.

AQ1- The Guppys may end up getting fin nipped by both the Tetras and Danios
AQ2- Guppys perfer to be in small groups with more males than females

However if i were you i wouldnt put any Guppys in the tank as they are likely to be open to been fin nipped, as they are slow moving fish, if i were you i would get another Zebra Danio so they number 5 and another 4 Neon Tetras so they number 10. As for the Unknown fish post a pic and some may be able to ID him/her.
