Stinky Tank

It's filament. And the cory is a peppered cory.

For £9 you can get an Ikea desk lamp with an 11w compact fluorescent bulb, and angle poise arm, which is perfect for small tank lighting. Filament lights should be avoided if possible as they generate too much heat, the wrong spectrum of light, and are not energy efficient. Also, just so you know, you could fit a group of pygmy cories in that tank, and they'd be happy as you could get 5 or 6 in there, but like was said earlier, cories should be in groups :good:

Ah. Maybe I will replace the light soon then. Would I just angle a lamp at the side of the tank or something? Would that give me enough lighting? I have a small halogen lamp that I could use but am a bit worried about leaving it on when i am not in the room..... I have heard that they sometimes catch fire! :S Maybe I'll just visit Ikea... so i am looking for something small with a fluorescent bulb then?

As for cories, yeah I figured too late that I needed to look for pygmies. But the tank is being divided, so I don't think there would be enough space for a group. I'm looking at getting some more peppered cories to join the lonesome one :p and will squeeze them into my community - I'm setting up a new 60 litre community when my baby kribs are grown and they can then move there!
